About Ruchira Chaudhary

An alumna of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Ruchira straddles the corporate and academic worlds – she is a leading executive coach, adjunct faculty at several top tier business schools and runs a boutique consulting firm focused on organizational strategy solutions. She has over two decades of experience in emerging markets in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.

During her corporate career, Ruchira held leadership roles in Medtronic and AIG in Singapore, Qatar Telecom (now Oredoo) in Qatar and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in India. She teaches as affiliate faculty at several business schools including Chicago Booth, SMU, NUS and IMD, ISPP and most recently London Business School.

She has won several awards in the field of women in leadership and a frequently gets featured in, and writes for leading business journals like HBR. Ruchira is an advisor/board member on several non-profit boards and currently serves as the Board President for the American School of Bombay.

Ruchira is the author of the award winning book Coaching: The Secret Code to Uncommon Leadership commissioned by Penguin Random House released globally late 2021 to much acclaim, and endorsed by several luminaries. Sheryl Sandberg, erstwhile COO of Facebook (Meta) sums it up beautifully – “Coaching can be hard work, but thanks to Ruchira we have a great playbook! An alumnus of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Ruchira straddles the corporate and academic worlds – she is a leading executive coach, adjunct faculty at several top tier business schools and runs a boutique consulting firm focused on organizational strategy solutions.

Ruchira’s diverse and eclectic background in mergers & acquisitions, organization effectiveness and strategy execution, coupled with two decades of experience in emerging markets in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, helps her grasp challenging people issues.

During her corporate career, Ruchira held leadership roles in Medtronic and AIG in Singapore, Qatar Telecom (now Oredoo) in Qatar and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in India. Her consulting repertoire spans multinationals, government agencies and leading local businesses across industries.

She has coached mid to C-level business leaders, academics, entrepreneurs and small business owners across the Middle East, North Africa, China, India and Singapore in industries ranging from oil & gas, financial services, government, automotive parts, health care, insurance, law, manufacturing, medical devices and technology.

She is the executive coach for Chicago Booth’s ADP program for senior level executives and affiliate faculty at several business schools including SMU, NUS and IMD in Singapore, and most recently London Business School.

Ruchira frequently gets featured in and writes for leading business journals like HBR. She has authored a series of highly acclaimed leadership and coaching articles for the Mint and also writes a regular column for them.

She is the author of the book Coaching: The Secret Code to Uncommon Leadership commissioned by Penguin Random House and endorsed by luminaries like Sheryl Sandberg, and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw. The book released globally in late 2021 to much acclaim.

She was facilitated as one of the “21 Women Leaders in 2021” by a leading women’s platform in India. She was also awarded the woman of excellence award 2022 by the federation of Indian achievers. Ruchira is an advisor/board member on several non-profit boards and currently serves as the Board President for the American School of Bombay.

By way of education, Ruchira has earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Delhi, a master’s in communications management and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a concentration in strategy. Ruchira speaks English, Hindi, Elementary French and Arabic. She resides in Singapore.
